January 2026 Camper Updates

[This information applies specifically to registered summer camp participants, and was sent via email to registered families on Jan 5.]


Happiest New Year to you and your family! We hope the holiday season was restful and fun, and full of great family memories. We are so excited that it's finally 2026 because that means the summer countdown can officially begin! 

Today is our first day back in the office following the holiday. We will be getting caught up on messages in the order we received them but please feel free to reach out with any questions you have including anything following our January update!
 
IMPORTANT REMINDERS/INFO 

  • Finances: If you did not pay-in-full at the time of registration, you are enrolled in a monthly payment plan, and the next scheduled auto-payment is this Friday January 9. If you would like to change your account payment source, you can log in to your Parent Portal, click on financial management and add the payment method yourself. If you need to change the auto draft method preference, please contact our office and we can take care of that for you! 

 

  • Cancellations and Refunds: Our refund procedures change on January 9. I am including our cancellation and refund procedures below for easy reference, but you can find additional details on the FAQ page of our website. 

    • REFUND POLICY: If you realize you must cancel (at any time), you are required to notify the camp office in writing via email, including any relevant information that might be used to determine refund eligibility.

      • Before January 9, 2026, if your circumstances change, just let us know, and we'll provide you with a refund, less your $200 deposit per camper per session.

      • Between January 9 and March 9, 2026, a cancellation for any reason will result in a 50% refund of fees paid to date.

      • Between March 10 and May 9, 2026, refund requests for major life circumstances beyond your control (such as family relocation, serious injury/illness, emergency hardships, etc) may be submitted with documentation for refund consideration.

      • After May 10, 2026, no refunds can be provided for any reason.

 

  • Family Camp: Registration for 2026 Family Camps will open next week! Families who attended Family Camps in 2025 can register beginning Tuesday, January 13 at 7pm. New families (or returning from past years) can register beginning Thursday, January 15 at 7pm. You can find the details on our website here. We expect cabins to fill quickly!

 
NEWS FROM CAMP

  • We will be saying “see ya later” to Alex Beavers, our Director of Base and Family Programs, later this week as she has taken an incredible opportunity outside of YCG. Read more about it and help us celebrate her here.

 

  • The Online Camp Store was closed for the holidays, but we're OPEN now, and ready to receive your orders. Cozy hoodies and more are all waiting for you, just a few clicks away.  

 
WHAT'S NEXT?
As we get further into the winter and spring we will be sending out specific summer information as it relates to summer details (packing list, themes, etc).
For now, here is a general timeline of what to expect when:

  • January 8, 12pm: Deadline to make changes to your monthly payment plan details before payments are processed on January 9.

  • February: Campanion app for 2026 will launch

  • March: Forms (ie; health history etc) will become available. Don’t worry - we’ll let you know and send instructions.

  • April: Summer Weekly Themes will be announced and a packing list will be sent.

  • April 10: Last payment of all payment plans.

  • May 1: All forms due online. Meet the summer team and camp prep information will be provided

Please note that returning from the New Year is a very busy time in our office. While we are in the process of finding our new Communications Director, our year-round team will continue to strive to ensure a timely response, but thank you in advance for your patience in receiving replies to emails and phone calls. Be assured that if your email or voicemail is timestamped by any deadlines, we will be sure to honor your request within our guidelines, even if we aren't able to reply until later.
