Visiting Info & FAQ

  • Hours vary by day when we are open to the public. You must check the schedule before visiting.

    The chapel visitation schedule changes daily and sometimes hourly.

    We recommend checking the online visitation schedule the evening before or the morning of your visit to ensure it is open to the public.

    Even then, we can not guarantee that it will be available. Private events have first priority to the chapel.

    If the Chapel is closed to the public due to a private event, you will not be able to enter the grounds or park onsite.

  • There is no charge to visit Pretty Place Chapel, during days and times that it is open to the public.

    You must check the visitation schedule below before visiting to ensure the Chapel will be open for viewing.

  • Restrooms

    The only public restrooms are temporary toilets (“port-a-potties”) that are unlocked during public operating hours.

    Indoor/permanent restrooms are available for private events only. Please see our booking page for more information.

    Accessibility

    The Chapel is wheelchair accessible from the parking lot into the Chapel. However, there is not a ramp down to the front of the Chapel. The view of the valley is beautiful from anywhere inside the Chapel, without going to the front.

    Pets/Dogs

    Only service animals are allowed at the chapel. Pets may not visit. However, the parking lot is directly in front of the chapel, so your 4-legged friends can definitely stay in the car during your visit and you’ll be close by.

Upcoming Schedule

SUMMER HOURS UPDATE:

For summer 2026 specifically, public visitation is paused from now until and will resume on August 24, 2026.

In recent years, Pretty Place has become an increasingly popular destination and chapel visitation has increased significantly. With that growth comes a responsibility to care well for both this space and the campers who call camp home each summer. Pretty Place Chapel is a facility on the grounds of YMCA Camp Greenville, which is first and foremost, an overnight summer camp for children and families.

To preserve the quality of experience and put proactive measures in place to enhance the safety of our campers, as well as for hosts of weddings and other reserved events, Pretty Place will be closed to the public each summer moving forward.

All weddings and previously reserved events will continue as planned for summer 2026. The chapel WILL remain available for private event bookings during this summer and future summers.

Planning a visit for a later date?

Due to the high demand of Pretty Place as a venue please know that even when we are open to the public we are often closed due to events. Our heaviest event months are September, October, April, and May.
