Countdown to Summer ‘26: Mail & Communications

At YMCA Camp Greenville, campers learn about independence, community living, and other skills through living in a rustic camp environment with minimal technology. Subsequently, Camp Greenville offers several options for one-way communication: parents can send communications to their campers, but campers will not have an opportunity to reply (they’re too busy having fun!!). Check out your communication options below!

All mail and packages are delivered to campers each afternoon, Monday-Friday. Pre-ordered items will be delivered to your camper’s cabin on their first day at camp.

How You Contact Your Camper

Check-In Drop-Off

You may drop off envelopes, cards, letters, and small packages* during the check-in process, to be delivered to your camper at any point during the week.

Each item should be clearly labeled with:

  • Your camper’s name

  • Current Session #

  • Cabin Name (to be included in your Check-In email the week prior)

  • What day of the week you would like the mail piece delivered

If any food items are included, please choose packaged items that won’t spoil or attract pests; do not include anything with peanut or nut ingredients; and consider including a treat for the whole cabin.

*NOTE: Storage space is limited. Please send packages that are approximately. the size of a shoebox or smaller.

eLetters in Campanion

You also have the option to send Letters, which are electronic mail sent from you (or other family members) via our Campanion App for parents. Click here for more info about downloading the app and creating your account.

Each morning Monday-Friday at 10:00 AM, we print all received Letters from the prior 24 hours. You may send Letters from noon on Sunday until 10am on Friday; Friday lunchtime will be the last Letters distribution for the week.

Traditional “Snail” Mail

You may also send traditional mail to your camper, and they may write letters home as well. Please do note that because of our remote location, it’s possible mail may not arrive at its destination until after your camper is home from camp.

If you would like to send traditional mail TO camp, we recommend sending it the week prior and labeling it with your camper’s Session number so we can save it for their arrival. Our mailing address is:

YMCA Camp Greenville
Attn: [Camper’s Full Name], Session [#], [Bunk Name]
4399 YMCA Camp Rd
Cleveland, SC 29635

If your camper would like to send traditional mail FROM camp, we recommend preparing them with pre-addressed, stamped envelopes and writing supplies in a plastic zip-top bag (our moist environment can sometimes seal loose envelopes and make paper soggy!). Once their letter is ready to send, they can ask their cabin leader for assistance in sending it out.

How We Contact You

Campanion App for Parents

Download the Campanion App, set up your account, and turn on push notifications to receive updates from camp while your camper is here with us, including photos and microposts in your Stream! You’ll see updates that we’ve sent to all parents, as well as updates that are specifically for your camper’s session.

Camp Office

If someone in the Camp Office needs to reach you individually, we will contact you by phone, text, and/or email. If you see a missed call from camp, don’t panic! Listen to our voicemail and give us a call back as soon as you’re able. We will always continue to provide care for your child to our best ability in the meantime.

If you need to contact the Camp Office at any point during your camper’s session, please reach out to our Communications team at camper_services@ymcagreenville.org or (864) 823-2043. Though our hours in the office in the summer are varied, we will get back to you as soon as we are able and in priority order. We ask that you only send ONE method of communication (email, text, or phone) in order to help us get back to you in a timely manner.
