At YMCA Camp Greenville, each fun filled day provides the opportunity for new adventures - allowing everyone the chance to grow and develop. Staff members bring energy and excitement to a program of challenging and creative outdoor activities for their campers. In the role of camp counselor you will be developing and demonstrating values like honesty, caring, respect, responsibility and leadership - characteristics which are highly regarded by future employers.

Summer positions at YMCA Camp Greenville are for hard working, enthusiastic people who enjoy fun and fellowship. It is work for dedicated individuals who have a sincere desire to teach children and have a positive impact on their lives. The work is demanding of your time, energy and emotions, and requires a great deal of self-motivation, patience, and creativity. It takes the kind of person who can have a positive attitude - anywhere at anytime! Camp Greenville prefers that all staff members be certified in First Aid and CPR in order to maintain a strong commitment to safety.

What are we looking for?

Staff come from throughout the United States and from around the world. Staff are, without question, the key to happy and healthy campers and a successful summer camp. We are looking for those very special individuals who enjoy and have the skills to work with children in the camp setting - 24 hours a day.

2008 Camp Staff Application Addendum  (1 page) This form has questions specific to employment at camp that are not addressed in the general YMCA of Greenville Employment Application. Adventure Skills Addendum (2 pages) Complete this form if you are interested in being an Adventure Specialist (backpacking, rock climbing, mountain biking, whitewater - rafting or canoeing, or fly fishing), an Adventure Cabin Counselor, an Outback Counselor, or a Trailblazer Trip Leader.

Staff Reference Forms (2 Pages; Print 3 Copies) - Each staff member must have three written reference forms on file to be considered for employment; returning staff must re-reference each year.

2008 Junior Counselor Supplement Form  - (1 page) This form has questions specific to individuals who participated in either the Wilderness-Counselor-Institute (WCI) or the Counselor-In-Training (CIT) program at YMCA Camp Greenville last summer.  Please be sure to complete this form and return it with the YMCA of Greenville Employment Application to help find the right position for you at YMCA Camp Greenville.

YMCA Background Check Form - This form must be completed by all employees before work may begin; individuals who are under 18 years old should have a parent or legal guardian sign the form as well.

Voluntary Disclosure Statement Form  - This form must be completed by all employees before work may begin; individuals who are under 18 years old should have a parent or legal guardian sign the form as well.

Health Form - Every staff member is required to have a completed Health Form on file prior to the first day of work. The form requires the signature of a healthcare professional and that the examination be completed within the previous years. Many campus Health Centers perform routinely perform these examinations for a nominal fee.
